  Wow, what a treat! Such friendly and confident staff, and even though we were told that due to lack of chefs, the menu was more limited than normal, the options were still diverse and the wine, excellent! We sat right until close with no push to leave our table, I was able to add eggs to my smashed avocado dish just the way I liked them with no issues, food was prepared and served fast, and the overall atmosphere was so calm and comfortable. Being new to the coast, I'm definitely bringing my Sydney friends here.

  Drove all the way from Sydney as myself & my partner scheduled to go visit the Japanese Gardens & have lunch at the Point Cafe. Ordered our food & drinks at 1.00pm, drinks arrived promptly but we were left waiting for 40 minutes until I got up & went to ask the wait staff what the delay was. I was told that they were busy & our docket was second in line to be served. Nothing happened for a further 20 minutes until we got up & left the restaurant very disgusted with the waiting time & lack of care from the wait staff who also appeared to be running around in circles! We were left unattended for 1 hour without anyone coming to apologise for the long waiting time & we were not even offered any further refreshments or snacks as a complimentary gesture for keeping us waiting for so long. At least offer to cover our drinks as a sorry for the bad experience, but no I was asked to pay for the two drinks we had! Me & my partner have been to many restaurants in Sydney from fine dining to fast food restaurants & have never had to wait for more than 15 minutes for the food to be served. I'm sorry for the long review but the facts are these & unfortunately we will not be returning to the Point Café anytime into the future. Regards, Nello

  Friendly service, had the seafood platter and the squid was very nice and the loose leaf English Breakfast tea was exactly as someone would expect. Adjoining art gallery (typically free) and Japanese Gardens (free) are always amazing to look at.
